Space Day Family Day will take place at the National Air and Space Museum in Washington, DC, May 8 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Last year, over 36,000 kids, parents and museum goers enjoyed activities including presentations from the crew of STS-119 and three former astronauts, a live conversation with the crew of the International Space Station and loads of hands-on educational activities hosted by Lockheed Martin, NASA, and the National Air and Space Museum. Visitors learned about the Orion — NASA’s replacement for the Space Shuttle, model rocketry, FIRST Robotics, Landsat, then and now lunar exploration, and telescopes.
