BRING THE SOLAR SYSTEM TO YOUR COMMUNITY—BECOME A NEW HORIZONS FELLOW

(Applications due May 1, 2010)

Take part in the golden era of solar system exploration by becoming a New Horizons Educator Fellow! As an integral part of NASA’s New Horizons mission to Pluto and the Kuiper Belt, the Fellows will bring the excitement of this historic mission to classrooms across the nation.

The New Horizons Educator Fellowship Program is an outreach program for motivated volunteer educators across the nation. These volunteers communicate the excitement of the New Horizons mission and information about recent discoveries to other teachers as well as students in their local communities. Taking part in the New Horizons Educator Fellowship Program is a great opportunity for educators to make a broad, yet profound impact in science education in the preK-12 community.

Applications are due by May 1, 2010. You may download the application form via: http://pluto.jhuapl.edu/fellows/docs/ApplicationForm.pdf, but read the Announcement of Opportunity first to find out more information about the resources provided to and the responsibilities of a New Horizons Fellow before completing the application: http://pluto.jhuapl.edu/fellows/docs/AnnouncementofOpportunity.pdf.
