SDO AIMS TO MAKE MORE SENSE OF THE SUN

At first, scientists thought solar activity would pick up in fall 2006. Only since this past December, however, has Solar Cycle 24 shown a marked increase in sunspot activity. Launched in February, NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory aims to help scientists better understand and predict solar activity and its impact on Earth. Read more at the NASA portal:
