EARTH SCIENCE INFORMATION PARTNERS (ESIP) CONFERENCE INVITES GRADES 6-12 EDUCATORS

(July 20-22; University of Tennessee, Knoxville)

ESIP, or the Federation of Earth Science Information Partners – is a unique consortium of over 100 organizations that collect, interpret and develop applications for remotely sensed Earth science data. Regional educators are invited to learn about federation efforts to study and steward our planet.

Participating educators will attend a session on climate change topics the afternoon of Tuesday July 20th, have access to the ESIP introductory plenary on the morning of Wednesday the 21st, then have an afternoon and second full day of teacher track sessions Wednesday afternoon and Thursday.

NOAA and NASA are supporting teacher participation at this gathering. Registration fees and lunches will be covered for all teachers and a $200.00 time and travel stipend is available for twenty educators. To apply and reserve your stipend, please send a short e-mail indicating the grade(s) and topic(s) you teach, school name, your interest in Earth science and ways you intend to share what you learn with your students and colleagues to Margaret Mooney at Margaret.moony@ssec.wisc.edu.
