Earth Math: Using Mathematics to Teach Earth Systems Science and Global Climate Change

This book explores a few of the many concepts that frequently come up in the study of Earth systems and global climate change. It shows how the underlying basis for many of the environmental issues we are now confronted by, have simple mathematical underpinnings. This book serves as a companion guide to standard Earth science and mathematics courses at the middle and high school-level. The problems need not be executed in the order presented.

Each problem page contains from two to eight subsidiary math problems related to each of the 40 main topics. Students need not complete all of the problems to have a meaningful understanding of global climate change.
